Safestor Account Manager

Since 1973, Ponderosa Insurance Agency, a division of Repwest Insurance has been a specialist in self-storage insurance. Ponderosa Insurance is a part of the U-Haul Holding Corp family of companies.

Under the direction of the Director of Marketing, the Account Manager will proactively cultivate current client relationships to grow Safestor Tenant Insurance participation in their assigned book of business. The Account Manager will work with local and national team members to consult and service Safestor clients within the self-storage industry. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. An account manager should be able to work well in a team environment and feel comfortable working in a feedback culture.

Responsibilities

  • Retain and grow current client relationships

  • Verbally communicate with each customer and practice integrity in each conversation

  • Actively seek to understand each customer’s needs and goals through consistent verbal contact

  • Secure customer rapport through genuine and exceptionally responsive interactions

  • Proactive customer service with current clients

  • Become an expert in the competitive environment and be able to communicate regarding competitive offerings while effectively positioning Safestor as the best Tenant Insurance choice for assigned locations.

Qualifications

  • One or more years of experience in account management

  • Ability to achieve goals and determine priorities

  • Organized with strong time management

  • Ability to travel up to 30%

  • Self-motivated and self-disciplined and provide prompt follow-up to all customer inquiries

  • Strong presentation and leadership skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Practical knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • This job requires successful completion of the Arizona Property & Casualty License within 60 days of being hired. Training and study material will be provided. Insurance experience is not required. Training will be provided.

Education/Training:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in communications, business management or the equivalent experience is preferred.

Commission/Bonus:

  • This is a salaried position with opportunities for bonuses.
